Grounded in Connection
La Sierra was born from a transformative experience in South America, where the brand's founder, Sophia, came across the unparalleled softness and warmth of Alpaca textiles.
Inspired by the slower, more intentional way of living she encountered, Sophia envisioned a brand that would share this comfort, connection and craftsmanship with the world. What began with a single, grounding Alpaca jumper soon grew into deeper connections with the artisans, commitment to ethical production, and creating pieces that carry meaning beyond their material.

Baby Alpaca Grande Scarf
I went to the Autumn Festival in Bright on the weekend and we went to Mount Hotham to enjoy the scenic drive and view nearby. Standing in a cloud at 7°C (44°F) with my 'Baby Alpaca Throw + Oversized Shawl' and 'Kea Ribbed Cardigan' - I felt warm, soft and invincible! I bought my oversized shawl in Chestnut Brown and I love how versatile it is when wearing it. Wear it like a scarf and you are fortified against any Artic blast. Wrap it around your body as you walk amongst the frosted eucalyptus forest with a coffee in hand and your memories of being one of the original Guardians and Stewardess of Earth comes flooding through. Lovingly made by true artisans of Peru, I am grateful for wearing it here in Australia. Thank you :)

Suri Luxe Bear
My new Suri bears are bringing me great joy. They are cute, warm, and cuddly. Individually made by local artisans in Peru from incredibly soft alpaca fleece, each has a distinct expression and personality. I chose the large, which at approx. 45 cm I find exactly right: a comfortable armful without being too big. The team at La Sierra were extremely helpful, answering my queries at once with personal attention (plus photos!) and fulfilling orders within a day. Eduardo and Chewie (what else could I possibly have named them?) are a very welcome addition to my household - and, dare I confess, they have a sibling on the way!

I felt warm, soft and invincible! I bought my cardigan in Graphite (Size L) and I love how it brings out the soft feminine qualities of my body shape and skin tone. Even wearing a singlet underneath, I am warmed by my alpaca cardigan on a frosty morning walk through the autumn foliage of red, orange and yellow.
